Welcome to the Figueroa's immigration ordeal!!!

Canada has been known for many years for its tradition to offer protection to people who have been forced to seek protection against persecution and danger in their homeland! The Figueroa Family is being affected by the immigration laws that have been adopted, by Section 34.1 of the I.R.P.A. to be specific.

This blog has been created with the objective to become a link among the community who still believe in Canada's Tradition and search for alternatives that would allow to make a difference for the defense of individual rights!

We thank you before hand for your opinion and suggestions so that a solution is found!

In behalf of the Figueroa Family and many others whose rights are being affected ... Thanks for your Support!

We are Jose!

"We are Jose' Continues....

This is an urgent plead to the Community!!

"We are Jose" is heading to Ottawa.!!

Since the Minister of Public Safety or the Minister of Immigration have not provided a response to the application for ministerial relief (based on Section 34.2 of the IRPA), and neither the Minister of Immigration has responded to the application on Humanitarian and Compassionate Grounds (based on section 25 of the IRPA)... Jose Figueroa and his son Jose Ivan Figueroa are heading to Ottawa...

The purpose of this trip will be to deliver personally a letter to the Prime Minister Stephen Harper; and also to the Minister of Public Safety Vic Toews... in the hope that a solution could be found so that  some estability could be given to the Family's actual conditions..

The Figueroa Family would like to thank the community for all the support shown during  the "We are Jose" Campaign !!

Some of the supporters of the campaign who had written letters to the Minister of Public have been receiving a response letter from the minister. stating that the Privacy Act forbids them to comment any further without a written authorization form signed by Jose Figueroa....   If you have received a similar letter from the Minister we encourage you to get in touch with Jose Figueroa through  wearejose@gmail.com or sending a copy of such letter to Walnut Grove Lutheran Church at 20530 88th Ave. Langley, BC, V1M 2Y6.   and Jose Figueroa will gladly send you a signed form so that you can follow up with your communication with the Minister..

This case has been draining the family emotionally, physically, and economically... but your support has been lifting them up morally and spiritually... Thanks to all the community who have been able to understand and identified with what this immigration problem represent to the Family...!!

You can continue showing your support by helping make this trip to Ottawa a success...!

Besides delivering a letter to Ottawa, the Tour has the objective to inform the community about the many aspects of the deportation order... and raise awareness  about the legal issues that would affect not only the family but also many other sectors..!!!

You can further support the family, by making of this Tour through Canada a success!

If you are willing to help in any way... please contact "We are Jose"  at wearejose@gmail.com... or jfigueroa@shaw.ca for detail information on how you can help...

3.-     Some of the cities that we would be stopping by for sure are Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Montreal,
Toronto, Gatineau; Thorn Hill; but if you would like to coordinate a stop in your community please ... get
         in touch with us...
4.-    We will be expecting to leave Langley for spring break so Jose Jr.. don't miss much time off school..

 Needs...

According to the lawyer a decision for the exemption by the Minister could take between 6 to 7 years, yet the situation of the Family continues being in a limbo... so decision is needed now... so that the family can carry on with normal life...

Jose Figueroa will have to take time off work.... the family that will stay home will need some help with food... since the trip will take at least 10 days one way...

If someone could lend a Van that could be use on the trip (about 10,000 km or more),  please note that we would paint the Logo of the Campaign (if allowed)...

The Trip will need to be documented, also we would be in need of recording video machine..

We also would need a lap top that would allow us to be connected through... Internet...

You also can show your solidarity in providing for the Gas, and insurance...

You also could show your support by providing a place where the team could rest...

if you got some ideas improving the trip ..that will be greatly appreciated
